Spring 2022 Season Update #3

Here is some of the information we shared in our parent meeting. If you have any questions, please let me know. Please see the practice schedule for this week below. Practices are weather permitting, so please check your email or Facebook to get field conditions and cancelled practices.

TEAMS/ROSTERS

Rosters have been sent out, if you have not received, please let us know asap.

SCHEDULES

A final schedule will be given to parents at the time we hand out uniforms and posted no later than March 10th. Each division has one practice a week. TeeBall and PeeWee have games on Saturdays, with practices on Tuesdays or Thursdays. Rookie has games on Tuesdays or Thursdays and Saturdays, with practices on Mondays or Wednesdays. Kid Pitch has games on Tuesdays or Thursdays and Saturdays, with practices on Mondays and Wednesdays. 

EQUIPMENT

As a reminder, all TeeBall/Peewee players will receive a jersey, hat and socks from the league. Parents are responsible for purchasing pants (elastic waistband, gray recommended). All Rookie, Minor and Major players will receive a jersey, hat, socks and belt. Parents are responsible for purchasing pants and cleats. You are welcome to buy your own bat and helmet, but the league will also have both available for any player that needs them. If you are buying a bat or helmet, please be aware that only USA bats are allowed by Little League Rules. We also require that all helmets have a full-face cage on them. Write your name in your hats!

Uniforms should be here by March 10th. If that changes, we will communicate updates and schedule a time for pick up when they are available. 


OPENING DAY PARADE – RAIN DATE MARCH 19TH

Our annual opening day parade/opening ceremonies is scheduled for March 12th (weather permitting) at 9 AM, with ceremony to follow at 10 AM. Players should plan on arriving at Bethany United Methodist at 8 AM to decorate and prepare for the parade. Each team will parade in decorated trucks from Bethany United Methodist to Milford Park, starting at 9 AM. Teams will line up on Todd Jones Field, where we hold our Opening Day Ceremony. This should be closing around 10:45 and games begin around 11, starting with TeeBall. It’s truly a memorable experience for everyone! 

If you own a truck or have access to a truck, please be prepared for your team or another team to ask to use it. We still need 4 more trucks, so please let us know! 

TEAM MOM/DAD

Team Moms are responsible for coordinating snacks for games, dugout assistance and coordinating decorations, etc. for opening day parade. Please be looking for an email from your Team Mom for details in how you can help your child's team.

CONCESSION VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

We are excited to be offering concessions again this year! We will offer hamburgers, hotdogs, fries, snacks, candy, drinks and more! If you are interested in volunteering in the concession stand this season, or you have a teenager or family member who is interested, please sign up! We have created a signup genius for you to volunteer. It is suggested to work the game before or after your child’s game. Please reach out to Glenda Adams at [email protected] with any questions.

Kid Pitch and Rookie teams will need scorekeepers, if you are interested in volunteering, please let me know. Also all coaches and assistant coaches must be registered online as a volunteer, if you have not done so, please complete and if you need assistance, please reach out.
